Default Buying help!

Well, I have researched, got my loan, got my insurance info and I am ready to buy a new '02. I wan to get a new Black/Black, but wanted some opinions on where I can get the best deal. I have been to 1 dealer in Arlington, VA (Brown Honda) and they were doing NO Negotiating. I would like to get this car for under MSRP preferably out the door at $31k. Does anyone have any reccommendations for any dealerships in the Northern VA / MD area that I might have some luck?

Any considerations would be helpful! Thanks!

P.S. - I live in Virginia, if I buy the car at a Maryland dealership, would I have to pay VA and MD taxes?

Thanks for everyone's help in response!

Good luck! There are 2 black/black used S2Ks for sale here in Richmond if you're at all interested...........

No, you don't have to pay VA and MD taxes if you buy the car in Maryland. I bought my first S2K (an early 2000 S2K) at Pohanka Honda - Marlow Heights. I paid just the VA sales tax.......you don't pay both. But you would have to get a state inspection done as soon as you return home with it.

blks2k2,

like you, i am searching for my S200. I went to Fairfax Honda, they were a total ass. The initial offering price was a whopping $$38995 for a silver 2002 S2000. how pompus! anyhow, i negotiated and they finally settled with MSRP. I wasn't happy with that number, like you, i was looking to pay under MSRP for the 2002 model.

I left Fairfax Honda and went to Bill Page Honda, where i placed an order for a 2003 S2000 at MSRP. Now, if you ask me if this is a good deal for a 2003 S2000, i think so but i dont' know what other car enthusiasts have to say.

jujuba,
i live in herndon 2.

as for what the enthu. paid, i know some paying up to 38k when the car first came out.
but msrp or $500 below should be the avg. price right about now. it's in it's 4th year production and the market is getitng new updates like z350, g35coupe etc. so the price will become a little soft.

lil raja

ps. if u need assistance, PM me. thanks

It's a hike, but I believe the Ohio Dealers are selling for under MSRP. You may want to check in the Ohio or Midwest forums. If you buy one far enough away, she'll be all broken in by the time you get home.

I've been looking around forboth new and used, and that sounds like a good deal to me. Seeing that the best I can find is about 500under msrp (or you can just wait a couple weeks until convertible season is over and get better deals on all the 02's they have sitting around). BTW what is sales tax in VA? in MD it's 5%
