u got PM.

sales tax on car is I thought 3.1% i could be wrong though.
yeah jump on that deal or just get a used one. there are so many awesome deals out there right now from this board. I have seen people selling low mileage cars for like 28k. How nice it would be to buy something for 27-28k and spend 2k on mods to get the car in a nice zone.

jujuba-
I learned "drunken stick", which is when your college friends (a while ago for me) were too drunk to drive their manual trans car and asked me to drive it. It's pretty simple... the easiest way is to remember the gas and clutch are a see-saw; gas goes down/clutch goes up.

Lil Raja-
I've found '00s with 13k-27k miles ranging around low 26s to high 27s.

The '00 that I wanted with 15k fell through. But whatever, search continues and prices keep dropping :-)

tepEvan,

if you wait one more month the price will drop as the weather gets cooler, before you know it 03s will be out and if you can hold up that long finding one in mint condition for low 26s will not even be an issue. It might even go down to 25k, but the market of used car is not predictable. If i wasn't trading car in, i would have most probably ended up getting a used s2k for much less than new and save the hassle with the idiot dealers. There are plenty of nice people selling s2k privately. Good luck!

Good Job, Jujuba!

It's a lot easier if you know how to drive already and are just concentrating on shifting.

I picked up my s2k on Monday night and am still learning it's ins and outs... it all takes time. give it a month or so and we'll all be ok

Those of you still in the market need not forget that any quote by a VA dealership is still gonna hit you with a processing fee of $189 and up - I've seen some charge $400+.

Just a little advice when comparing MD($25 max allowable charge by law for Processing) and VA.

Good luck.
