Default Cage builder in NOVA

I want to get a weld in roll bar in my S2000. Any idea who is a "good" cage/roll bar builder in this area?

I know few but I am trying to see if you guys have more options

You have a couple options. If you have $$$, Piper Motorsports. If not, pick up a HardDog rollbar and have someone weld the feet in place. This way you'll know it clears the softtop/hardtop and it is stout.

Looks like I'm headed to NC Monday to drop my car off to be caged(incorporating current bar into cage production). If you elect to go the HardDog route, I can bring the bar back to Fredericksburg for beer. Estimated time my car will be in NC: 1 month because of the holiday.

JE Imports did the cage in my E36 BMW race car --> http://www.jeimportperformance.com/

They were the safest and the cheapest option when I was researching.

I know this is not quite NOVA but not too far from you.

If you decide to contact them, talk to James Evans. He is the owner and quite knowledgable. Tell him Mani the BMW racer sent you.

good luck!!

I agree with you, Mitch the guy to go to and I might end up doing that as he built my E30 cage. However the $ is a little deep.

Anyhow I called Hard Dog and to ship it here its ~$70 so no big deal. but thanks you for the offer, very nice of you

BTW my car is guted no soft top, nothing in the back so it will be easy install/fab

No this looks great and it’s not far, thanks. I am just worried about the rules. I would like to have a 4 point roll bar to start that will make a cage later on. I just want it to be within NASA and SCCA rules if I ever race the car.

I have few options on the table and hard dog is good option but I am not a big fan of bolting a roll bar or cage although, its very tempting as if I end up selling the car for any reason I can just remove it. With weld in I will have to cut it.

Regardless, I don’t think I will be selling it but it’s an option to consider.

I will call JE tomorrow
