YES YES YES......YOU need to take the Basic course......then the advanced in a few years......

Well worth the time and effort. A bunch of my co-riders are instructors here in MD.

I need to take the ERC course every two years to maintain my rider certification. They just raised that cost of the class too. Its unbelieveable how difficult it is to get into one!!!!

All the better, no bad habits.

Can you show up as a standby? There are always "no shows".

standby is a possbility. I've heard that works. I think it depends on the facility too. Glen Burnie would be tough, but the one on Snowden River or Frederick you might have a better chance of walking in.

J you should call my friends Jay and Lisa Goddard for gear, they are a local shop in Potomac MD. They also have female specific gear.

You are buying gear right?

Lisa is one of the better riders I know of, she would be a good person to get to know and get advice from. She rides A gixxer 600 on the track.

Thanks guys... I had registered for the class up in Frederick b/c it was the earliest in June... but when I finally talked to the bike shop about it they mentioned their guy who is a Park Popo. I could have taken the class this weekend but come on my priorities are for the Evo meet then SOVA next week. So it will be the weekend after. Getting the learner's hopefully this weekend

George,
Yes I am buying gear but the shop I am buying from if given's me a pretty good deal on bike, and all gear and even throwing in some stuff for free can't beat that.

That's cool, you should still give Lisa a call, I know she is involved in some lady ride groups and track day events and could really help you as a new rider.

If you value your skin make sure to get MC pants and MC specific boots, not just a jacket and gloves, jeans offer no protection.

Road rash sucks , I have first hand knowledge.
