Check out the Dell outlet too if you really want a steal. Sometimes good computers can be had for a really good deal. They are all refurbished systems but I believe it still has a 1 year warranty.

I need to do some computer shopping as well for myself. My home computer is really old and right now not working.

Well, ideally you'd need to sit down with someone to talk over what you want from the new computer, what your budget is, what existing parts are you planning to reuse, and then go to configuring the new computer.
I can help you with it if you want to.
Doing it on the forum is not quite productive...
