Thumbs down CDC AutoX#2 April 9th in Frederick, MD

Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, MD is the location of our next autocross event (#2 of 17), on SATURDAY April 9th.

We had a pretty good S2000 turnout at autoX #1. Hope to see you out there again. For novices who have never autoXed, this is a great club to start driving with. The number of drivers is fairly small (<55 drivers), relaxed attitude, allows passanger ride ons, nice people. It is always easy to get an instructor to ride along for some basic help too.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 (new time) and will promptly close at 8:50 to try to accomodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:50. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute. If you don't get teched or registered by 8:50, you will lose your morning runs.

We tried the split heat on the last autocross and everyone seemed to like it. So we will continue the split shift working scheme. When each heat will grids on the lot, the heat will be split in half. Half the heat will run while the other half works the course. The participants will then switch after the 3 runs are completed. After all participants in the heat have run, the the next heat will grid.

The event fee is $20 for members and $25 for non-members at this event. So if you plan to attend, e-mail me your name(s), make, model, year and color of your vehicle.

The annual membership is $25 (if you do more than 2 events, its probably worth just joining).

Member reservations (or participants that will join the club upon showing up) for any events can be made at any time. Open reservations for non-members begins one week before the event. To reserve a spot, e-mail your

Full name(s)
make
model
year
color of your vehicle(s)

along with the event(s) you plan to attend.

If you are a member and want to participate, I suggest that you reserve your spot as soon as possible. The April 9th event is already almost full with "member only" reservations.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the the CDC head guy:

Sounds like a fun event, and I'm hoping there are more so I can attend in the future.

Do you know what the regulations are regarding tire wear? My rears are at the wear bars. I thought it would be fun to try an autoX and not care about tire wear since I need new ones anyway. I'm wondering if I will be able to pass Tech Inspection though?

Thanks for the info
Dan

We have 17 scheduled autoX events this summer which is more than any other club in this area.

Regarding tire wear, if the tires are at the wear bar level that is fine. If they are below and/or the tire wear is very uneven than it becomes a tech inspection judgment call but to play it safe you should have at least wear bar indicator thread depth.

It filled up fast. if you plan on doing any of the CDC autoXs, I would recommend go to the website picking out a dat that works for you and reserving a slot early.

NOTE: CDC will not be accepting any new members after the April 9th autox. After that, good luck getting in any event. The annual membership only costs $25 and this reserves a slot for all of the 17 autoX events this season.

Sure, come on out. There is a big hill were spectators can watch. Bring a foldable chair or blanket to sit on.

I had a ton of fun last time (white TSX), the atmosphere was very laid back and I got to meet a lot of people.
