Spring install question
Fellow Mid-A'er looking for some advice on Spring install.
I have always wondered why my car looked higher in the front than in the back. It has Eibach lowering Springs, and I just assumed thats was how it was supposed to look.
Well I took the initiative yesterday to research this on the boards. It turns out my springs are installed backwards. Fronts in rear, and rears in front. I could tell by the numbers on the shocks.
Either way I plan to swap them and I have a few questions. I found this link that basically walks me through some of the steps but I have a few questions before I start.

Let me know if I understand everything.
Once I remove the shock and spring I will use a spring compressor to compress the spring and remove the top bolt (i think). Is the spring compressor a must have to remove/install the spring? Is there another way to do it?
So far it sounds fairly simple. What about re-torquing the bolt after installing the shock and spring assembly. Is it as easy as placing a floor jack under the A-arm and jacking it up until there is tension. Can there be too much, or too little tension?
Any other advice?
Thanks for all the help everyone. I'm not too good when it goes to DIY stuff and I'm trying to learn
HIGHRPMMEK (ryan) we meet the other day at solomons island. Do you have any experiance swapping springs. Give me a ring if your bored.

Dan,
If you are free this weekend, why dont you stop by our Mid-Atlantic Mod Day (see link here). Not sure who else at the meet has done it previously, however Joe (sanmarinocpe), Tony (moparacker), and myself have done several spring installs for the S2000. I am looking to relax this weekend at Mod Day, however I am more than happy to walk you through the install piece by piece.

Thanks for the invite black nugget. Unfortunaltly Newport is no where near where I live. 4+ hours. Maybe another weekend when I have more time I'll get out to one of the meets or mod days and get to say "hi" to everyone.
If only they would build a bridge from where I live in So. Maryland over to VA it would be a much better drive. Right now I need to travel north for awhile and then west and then South AGAIN to get to the 301 bridge. It's one of those cases where I can see it but I can't get there, without a bridge.
Thanks
Dan

Ouch, that stinks.
Spring install is a pretty simple thing to do, I've done roughly 6 or so with the help of some other members/friends. Its kind of hard to explain how to, however a spring compressor is needed.

The spring compressor will make it EXTREMELY easier for you to install the springs...I installed my springs by myself in about an hour and a half at around 1am and the spring compressor really helped out...
as far as removing the spring/shock combo, its really simple...just jack the car up and follow the instructions on that thread you put...try to use a long screw driver to pry the shock assembly off of the control arms, it makes things easier...
good luck
