I think this is the first time in a while that anyone besides Pete has beaten my times in the S. It's good to have competition.

I showed up with the new tires expecting rain, and it ended up being dry and hot the entire day. I'm also saving those worn and sticky tires for the Redline event. What I learned last weekend is that brand new tires need a bit more pressure than worn tires. I think the higher pressure keeps the tread blocks from squirming too much. My best time in the morning was 42.29 (plus a cone), but the afternoon runs were all above 43.x. I was experimenting with lowering the pressure compared to the morning (3 psi all around) to see how the tires would perform, and I ended up sliding all over the place every single run. This was a great learning experience.

Ding, ding, ding. Exactly right.

What I confirmed is that in a nearly constant radius circle, no LSD really sucks. I probably left a second or more on the skidpad due to the fact that I had a peg leged, one wheel burnout around the entire skidpad.

I wouldn't worry about it. It takes seat time to get better control of your car and get more comfortable driving at the limit.

Don't worry about it, this one was a bit more technical than the last one. It was very easy to carry too much speed into the first part and blow the whole run. The "oval" was interesting too. I really wish they would have used the bottom lot though.

Thanks for the ride in the Miata Pete and for bringing the wear in the rear pads to my attention. My original RE050 are about toast but they feel stickier than ever. I need to get some R-comps to be competitive.
