I don't know of any place that has given me crap about scanning a code (dealerships excluded). I go to AutoZone, trade my license for a scanner, and go do the dirty deed.

Last time I tried getting my girlfriends CEL code pulled, all I got was crap. Three different Autozone's in the Sterling/Leesburg area told me their scanners were broken. Cottman Transmission told me their scanner only pulls tranny codes (effin BS), and the Hyundai dealership that my gf bought the car from told me it would cost 40 bucks. I called my Honda dealership and they wanted something like 50 or 60 bucks!

....So, I gave up, went on ebay, and bought a cheapo OBD2 scanner for $30. Yup, 30 smackers including shipping. I've successfully used it three times since and a friend is borrowing it at the moment. Screw Autozone. Screw Cottman. Screw Hyundai of Leesburg. Screw Tyson's Honda. They all managed to permanently lose a potential future customer because they didn't want to take 5 minutes (literally) to help someone in need.

By the way, if anyone in the Sterling area ever needs to borrow a scanner, just let me know
