Default Clutch Broke:(

Ok so last night I went down to kings dominion for fright night. On the way down 95 I was pushing the car a bit. Ive noticed over the last few days it has been getting harder and harder to shift into gears. So the clutch finally went last night I can no longer get it into 1st or reverse and it will barely go into 2nd for me to start moving. The clutch pedal is all floppy however it will engage right at the floor but is really loose and will barely allow me to shift into second from there i had to shift without the clutch. Do you guys think this is a hydraulic problem or a plate problem?

If you've not been hard on the clutch otherwise, my first guess would be to look into the clutch master cylinder.

That sounds hydraulic. If the pedal felt OK, but you had these problems, I would say the clutch was worn out. A worn out clutch will generally slip, especially under power. Shifting issues indicate a hydraulic, or throw out bearing type of issue.

I am old, so my advice is based on experience, but not S2K specific experience.

Yes, that means it is not disengaging . Try bleeding the clutch system and you may be good to to go for the FATT.

Sounds like its the master or slave cylinder went bad. I just had to replace both of mine. They are a lot cheaper then a new clutch so I would try replacing them first.

Definitely the clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder. Check the fluid. If it's empty, you have a leak. Fill it up, and pump the clutch until the pedal gets firm, and see if it will go in gear. It is in your best interest to change them both at the same time. I just had to change both of mine this last week.
