Default Clutch concern

I'm starting to get some slipping when I let out my clutch. Feels like the engine is racing and the clutch is not engaging. I have an 00 with almost 50K and it's almost 4 years old. Never had the 1-2 grind and do not do high RPM launches. I did a search and found that there was a TSB bulletin issued for a new disc? Some owners had theirs replaced with after market clutches but I think I will start with the dealer to see if its the entire clutch assembly or just a part. Any experience with the dealer in terms of correct repair and cost if it is the clutch? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Ray

Had my clutch replaced at 36k under warranty....kind of. I paid for minimal labor and they did the clutch, driveshaft, and all the associated TSB's.

I'm at 65k now, and it needs replacing again. We'll see how long it goes......I don't due crazy clutch drops or anything.

Had mine replaced at 30k or so. Paid parts and minimal labor. TSB was not honored, as it was pretty much slipping like mad. No hard launches, but lots of stop-and-go at the time (in/out of DC every day). Total cost about $800. It's the disc, the flywheel, the throwout bearing and a few other parts. Not cheap. If you're going to have to pay for it anyway (they won't consider that premature wear) go with a stronger aftermarket clutch, definitely.

At 57k - Had updated TSB performed just recently due to noise. Figured I didn't want to let it wear out...
