Default Cold Vtec

So when i start my car when it is really cold out, if i have to step on it to pull out of my neighborhood, once the VTEC kicks in it almost feels like the engine siezes. Has anyone ele experienced this. once the car warms up it is completely fine. But anyways, i was wondering. See yall saturday.

This is part of the safety features of your car. The ECU will not allow VTEC to engage until the engine is up to temp. I know that means three bars on an AP2 but I can't recall on an AP1 (you guys have larger bars than I do).

There is nothing wrong with your car. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

It does it even when it is not cold outside in the summer. AP1's need 3 bars. It might actually work when there are 2 bars, but i dont try it often enough to know.
