Default Compression & Leak Down How-To

I ran a compression and leak down test on my S2000. The compression was a strong 245-252psi in all cylinders so a leak down test wasn't necessary but I tested the # 1 cylinder just for practice. I wrote up a how-to with a few pics.

The how-to is here: http://robrobinette.com/S2000Compression.htm

Here's an example pic of the leak down test:

The spark plugs were a nice cocoa brown too so the engine seems to be in good shape. I'm going to adjust the valves next. I'm hoping to find a reason for my 184 hp dyno run (190 after tuning with the fuel computer).

Yea, I'm sure I'll do a valve adjustment how-to also.

Thanks, Rob

What are your opinions on the Harbor Freight compression and leak down testers? I know some of HF's stuff is great value, and some is crap right out of the box.

The HarborFreight.com compression and leak down testers worked fine. The leak down tester seems to be a pretty popular unit. I looked around for leak down info and they're everywhere.
