Default Daily Driver Question

My S is about 10 months old with 19000miles (little over). It used to be just driven around 3 to 4 days a day for a short time but after my integra accident I was forced to use the S for a Daily Driver. I was so anal about the car I wouldn't even fart in it (I really wouldn't and I still try not to ). But with 4 months of driving daily I noticed that my car gets damaged more than I can stand it to. Herez a situation: I was at UMBC selecting future lecture schedules and I parked my car away from everyone (like I always do). I came back out and my rear bumper had been smashed in (looks like some jagazz kicked it in) and the snow and ice is killing my bumper and underneath of the car. So are there other people that drive their S as a Daily Driver (even in snow)? any damages?

I hate when I park away from everyone then when I come out I'm still away from everyone except theres 2 cars next to me and one behind me. I inspect my car every time I come out to make sure nothing's happened. But I don't drive in the snow and ice, it's too punishing for my car.

does farting in your car make it a daily driver?

do what i did, and buy a beater. it's no hit with the ladies, but if the S is a priority, you'll thank yourself later. plus, i get a $400/year insurance break if i list the civic as my daily. go figure...

Ever since my Civic was stolen this car has been my daily driver. I'm not so anal about the car anymore, but I'm still in the market for a beater.

Fortunately, I don't commute, so even using my S for a "daily driver" doesn't log that many miles. That said, in the end, we're driving a depreciating asset. Car's, like all things, get used. Sure, a beater's one solution. But even if you baby your S, it's going to pick up chips in the windshield and paint and a scratch here or there. Such is life, I guess...

I's a car, it'll get some damage. Enjoy it to the outmost and drive it like you stole it!
IT's a driver's car. If you wanted looks, you should have bought a TT. BTW, mine is a daily driver, have had numerous problems such as the one you've had, but, what can you do. I still try to keep it clean, and take good care of it.

well mine is a daily driver, and worse off, im a regional manager for a store whos locations are in the mall. so my days are spent parked in a mall parking lot with christmas season in full bloom now, so i hate leaving my car out there. if you park too far in the back, people want to mess with your car because its back there, and if you park too close, then there are so many people in and out that its bound to get hit. i try to get somewhere where im in a corner spot with a curb at the front and driver side, then i make sure to pull in as close to the curbs as i can, that way with the s being so small, i have at least a couple feet before the line. but other than that, . .ive noticed a lot of wear with this car as a daily driver, but oh well, gives me a reason to buy a new one in a few years

The way I see it, is that this car didn't cost me $100,000. I drive it as my daily driver. My car is a year old anyway, I purchased it with 22,000 KM's on it. It already has a few scratches on the body as it is.

I just try and park somewhere away from most cars, or by other nice cars if possible (the other day I got lucky and parked between a curb and a new Corvette, so I'm sure they'd respect that I drive a nice car too).

Engjoy this car!!!! I sold my S2k this past summer for a 6k loss. I only had it for a year and sold it with 5K at 29K$. I too was very anal about the up keep of this exotic. but there is no escape from scratches, nicks and a 5 year old in the grage trying to take her bike out to play and in the process leaving a very bad memory on the car. But sh**t happens and you go on. I'm in the market for a new 03 and this time im going to enjoy this F**ker until it falls apart or until I get my Diablo VT!!!

Enjoy this car guys!!!!

Daily driver here too! Purchased last November ('01) with 3K miles on it. I already have 37K. I think those that know me know that I, too, typically "drive it like I stole it!" Its an awesome car and, frankly, I can't stand being in anything else!
