DC/VA Restaurant Suggestions?
Hey Folks:
I'll be visiting my brother and sister-in-law this Xmas in Alexandria. I've always gotten my brother car-related gifts. However, since he's now married, I am thinking about getting them a gift card to a nice restaurant in the DC/VA area. I'd like to spend around $200. Any suggestions on a nice dining establishment for a newlywed? Thanks in advance for your help!

For that amount, in DC, Kinkead's is great for seafood. For French, I like Bistro Francais in Georgetown. Citronelle in Georgetown is excellent - more upscale than Bistro Francais. The Capital Grille or Charlie Palmer Steak are great for steaks. In VA, Colvin Run Tavern at Tysons is very good (owned by the same owners as Kinkead's). Maestro at the Tyson's Ritz Carlton is excellent (Italian). In Falls Church, 2941 is very good. Restaurant Eve in Alexandria is very good. Lots to choose from!!
2941 is probably the best in DC, but the last meal for two that I had was $440 with 20% tip so it is outside of your $200 range.

You can get a fixed price meal with wine flight at Galileo (DC) for about $250 with tip. Galileo
Another excellent Italian is I Ricchi (DC).
I Ricchi.
Cafe Milano in Georgetown, although trendy, is also very good.

A very fun new place in Arlington is Tallula and my last dinner for two was about $140 with a bottle of wine.
