Does this seem like a reasonable reason

Man I feel you, because I have to do a lot of decision like that through my marriage life (23 years and going strong ). I'd say, work the numbers first. If your combine expenses are not over 30% of your combine take home pays not including the 10% for your self pay (savings, mutual fund, etc) then you should be good. But if not then I would say sacrifice the S for now. Get with in your financial goal, and I would say have at least 6 mo's of your gross pay saved up then not only you can afford a new S but the wifey should be all smile too.

Disclaimer I'm not a financial expert BTW, just sharing the same advice I got from some expert. Good luck on your decision

And oh by the way, I love my S a lot so it would be a really hard decision for me too if I have to sacrifice her.

it sucks to be in this position, but i dont think you ever answered if you have a second car, if your selling this car to get another car to free up money you might not truly be making out as much as its worth

Best time to buy a house now and probably for another year I don't really see houses appreciating well till end of 09 at least IMO everyone can say whatever. Is it possible to maybe settle for a house that you can bargain and still retain your S while getting a garage?

No point in having a big house with a nice garage with no toy in it, like having a gun without bullets

wish you the best im sure you will be cramming every number possible
