Engine Bogging
So I know this topic has been touched on enough but I was hoping you guys could help out a woman...While I was driving home today after about 20 minutes my car started to bog. I was already driving around 40ish when this happened so, it wasn't from a start. after about another 10 minutes the check engine light came on. About two years ago I had a similar issue, I took it to the dealership and they took a look at the map sensor and said it was loose. They tightened it and it stopped boggin. I can't remeber if the check engine light came on then or not. SO, I decided to tighten the map sensor but it was already tight... so I rapped on it a few times took her for a spin and it seems to have stopped. Do you think I may need to replace it? Also is there a way that idf that was the sitation and I temporarily fixed it can I turn the check engine4 light off? Much appreciation for any help. I totally don't need this on a Friday I just want a beer and to chill..

you can pull the backup fuse which is in the driver's footwell for 30 secs and pop it back in. If I can find the thread with the pictures I'll post it here. really easy to do, but you might need glasses or small hands, the fuse pull is pretty small and hard to see.
When the MAP sensor "whacking" no longer works, it's time for a new one. Ultimate Lurker posted a very interesting thread just on this topic. The gist of it was that some of these MAP sensors simply don't continue to perform well long term.
I wanted to let eveyone know about the staus of my car and see if you have any ideas or suggestions... The bogging has stopped but the cel still keeps coming on. I dropped it off a JCH, which by the way they are great. So the last thing I heard was that the air pump fuse went bad. Has anyone else had this happen? Hopefully that will fix it or they may have to replace the air pump. Does anyone know how long the air pump is covered under warranty?
Thanks for anything in advance.

the air pump fuse? More than likely it's not the airpump itself, probably just a short in the wiring or maybe even just a faulty fuse. I believe something like that is covered under your factory warranty for the 3yr 36k.
