Wow...lotsa windows for folks to see you naked ass walkin' about!
Well... I have lost 21 pounds since Jan 1st . So, "technically" there will be less naked ass for neighbors to see .

But yup...there'll be a lot of curtainless windows in our domicile

Nice progress on yours . My roof starts next Tuesday. Taska came up with some nifty changes for our Master Bath we're gonna discuss with our builder. Will make for significantly more space . We're also now planning to clear another 3-4 acres beginning this weekend.

Dude...you know I'm happy for you and between YOU and ANNA losing the weight, you guys are shifting it MY way!

And seriously, you have an ass only Taska could love.

I have to say it's an amazing thing to see your home come together. Anna and I can barely recall being so excited 8 years ago when we had our 1st home built. Yet, we are sad to see it sold and lived in by another couple. Be whatever it was, it was our first home. And funny that *this* new house is not our "forever" house and how so much of *it* has come from the experience of our first house. What kind of cabinets to go with...floors...closets...baths...etc, etc... And I'm sure, 6 months after we move into the *new* house, we'll smack our heads and say..."Dang, we shoulda..."

It's a hella fun project for sure. I enjoy visiting on a weekly (sometimes 2 or 3 times a week) to see what's new. I should post some of my pics Dave.

You need to put a Chicane in the driveway though.

Its all completely cleared...now. But we have a drainfield still to place...and a 400' trench to run from the house to that drainfield. So that's still got some roughin' that will go on with the cleared land. I need to get a tractor on-site with a disc-harrow on the back to chop up the last of any saplings & exposed roots.

If I started all that today I'd be planting grass seed within a month (let's say mid-April at best...cuz I still have an 8-5 M-F job ). Now, that means the grass seed would begin sprouting in, oh, 2 weeks...so first of May I'd have grass starting to grow. June come along and it would be ready for a first clipping. July and August's heat would promise...that I wouldn't have to cut the grass a second time . It'd die from the heat/drought of [a typical] Summer.

Bottomline, Spring is not the best time to sow grass seed. Especially if you're not in a position to control the water needs (and let's agree, 10 acres ain't controllable ). Fall is best, cooler days, wet, etc...that's what tender grass appreciates when its trying to gain a footing.

I'll still plant something by mid-April. I don't want the cleared soil to erode away waiting to plant in the Fall. But I'll count on whatever I plant, likely dying from the heat of summertime .

Wow lots of stuff, lol... I guess fall it is then Make sure to post up more pics as time goes along... heck I think it might be nice to have a little "Erection process" thread ( ) kinda like that build up of the black nugget thread that Chad has...

Windows, doors, and trusses arrived today! Sorry, no pics (left the camera at work ). Gravel for drainfield showed up as well. And we've set the borders for the remainder of the gravel drive.

Also, Taska had the excavator clear another 3+ acres this past weekend, cleaned/reclaimed a stream, and cleared a hack path through the woods for conditioning her horses.

Good stuff!
