Default F1 at Indy..

Does anyone plan on making the Trip in June to see the F1 race at the Indianoplis Motor Speedway in June... or is that just too far for most of you?

I would think you can still get tickets.. I'm not trying to sit in the grand stand. I want to try one of the vista's and get to walk around on part of the infield.

The F1 pits are hard to get into (ie you need special permission) and they use the garages but the other cars like the Porsche Cup and Ferrari Challenge cars are open for anyone to see........at least that is the way it was in '02.

whatever you want to know about the Indy race...I can tell you. I have been there 3 times, since its innagural race.

Tickets are AlWAYS available the day of the race from scalpers, which are all over the place! I mean, you cannot walk 20 feet without seeing someone selling tickets.

Indy itself pretty much is like Manassas, but with this major race track sitting in the middle.

I usually find a Days Inn hotel about 15-20 miles outside of the city and drive into the race from there, its cheaper and not a bad drive.

The strip clubs pretty much suck.

Try to get over to the set of haripins (infield) during Qualifying so you can get some up close action and it is good for picture taking

Turn One seats are awesome if you can get them.

Stay late on Sat. Qualifying to watch all the races and then do your gift shopping then, its less crowded then Sunday.

I've been to Montreal 3 times also and that race is much better from an atmosphere stand point, but its also much more expensive;-)

let me know if you have questions..
