Is a roll bar / cage necessary for FATT? I thought I read somewhere that Summit Point doesn't require them. They call out Boxsters & Z3s as fine with the factory hoops... anyone know if the same is true for us?

Depends on the event, but for FATT it is required depending on your height.

Vehicle Eligibility
1. Street cars on street tires. (Certain SUV's and trucks are eligible. You must call for approval.)
2. Roll bars are mandatory for all convertibles.
3. Functional factory or "pop up" roll bars are acceptable such as Porsche Boxster or BMW Z3.

I called them and they said the factory roll bar has to be over your head. I guess it depends on how tall you are.

By the way, a roll bar is NOT necessary for FATT's by BSR. Mazda drivers and Audi require them at their events but BSR does not for the S2000.

My last FATT required me to have an aftermarket rollbar. That is the only reason why I bought one. If they didn't, I wouldn't have got one.
