Default Feeler/guaging interest

I'm not sure how many members on here play golf, or are like me and have played once and loved it but i was thinking about putting together a mid-a golf meet in the spring. I know there's plenty of courses around here or if anyone had any sugestions that would be great to. i figure we could do golf and then dinner or if people wanted to get up early enough we could add a drive in there or maybe make it a two day meet. Seems to me it would be pretty fun without being too terribly expensive(depending on the course).. so let me know what you guys think.

Jeremy

p.s. we should try to make it a month or so away from the dragon so everyone can get off work for both

I golf, but hate doing it on the weekends... play is usually too darn slow. We got together this year in the Woodbridge area at a friend of mine's place. I wouldn't be opposed to playing as far as Williamsburg, however, you're not getting me any closer to the coast(traffic) for a one-day deal.

I definitely be in for a golf meet. There are a lot of nice courses in Va Beach for those that want to drive this far... for those that don't, Williamsburg has a ton of courses as well. Many of the courses in the Williamsburg area are either private, very expensive, or both. If we're looking for a cheaper course in the area, Deer Run in Newport News would be good. I'm sure the Richmond area has a lot of courses as well, although I've never played up that direction.

Just keep us updated!

I could give you a whole list of good courses (some cheaper, some not) down here in Va Beach, but I don't know if many people would be willing to drive down here for a round. If you ever want to play sometime down here, shoot me a PM and we can set it up though.

I would suggest Quantico, but they do not overseed for the winter. It's still very playable; just unsightly. My friend is the golf pro at a course in Woodbridge, but that would not be feasible for the coastal folks. It's not a long course, but challenging nonetheless... ask Dan and Bill.

so, would a weekend day be better for everyone or would you guys rather shoot for a weekday so there's less people on the course?
