Check the Miata boards... there may be a replacement gear that we can use again with this ratio.

max MPH in 4.10's / 4.57's / 4.77's per gear for AP1

1st: 43 mph / 38 mph / 37 mph
2nd: 66 mph / 59 mph / 57 mph
3rd: 91 mph / 81 mph / 78 mph
4th: 116 mph / 104 mph / 100 mph
5th: 139 mph / 125 mph / 119 mph
6th: 166 mph / 149 mph / 143 mph

Please keep in mind this may not be EXACT, but it's close. Hopefully some of the guys who have the gears will speak up to help you, but from what I've heard...the 4.44 aren't really worth getting because they don't help as much as many people expect them to. I think the 4.56 or 4.77 would be a good way to go DEPENDING on your other mods and if you are planning with going F/I.

I currently have 4.77's and have ran 4.44's in the past. The 4.44's were great but the 4.77's are even better. Whatever you do, get rid of those stock 4.10's with the quickness!

Did you notice a big difference when you switched to 4.44? Have you installed that SCer yet?

You're going to be shifting pretty darn quickly and often with F/I and gears. Some people like that though. I know when I was F/I I wanted longer gears not shorter and I was running the stock 4.1. It's just a matter of preference, but the guys who do the gears seem to enjoy them. I like how stealthy a set of gears are personally even though I never did the mod.

Yes, there was a pretty substantial difference between 4.44 and 4.77. I'm not SC'd yet still but I've almost got everything together now. The ESM came last week.
