The speed limit was what? 30-35? And we were breaking 80 in the "straights". (and I use that term loosely...) Didn't know I got up that fast til I was reviewing the video at home!

I also have a great route to skyline, but a GREAT vacation in the area is black horse inn in Warrenton. The staff is amazing...the rooms are great (about 300/night) the area is nice and plenty of great roads.

The tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi is Crabtree Falls. It's about 13 miles down Route 56 near Steele's Tavern, VA. The fast way to get down there is to just take Route 81 to Exit 205 and then take 11 North about half a mile before turning R on 56. However, if you want the 6 hour version, you can take Blue Ridge Parkway all the way from Front Royal down to 56, and then drive 56 for about 8 miles to the falls.

The reason I mention it is that 56 between 11 and the falls is probably the most fun road I've ever been on. It's a 55mph speed limit for most of it, and it's hard to even get above 40 in most places due to the curves!

I might have to try this one as well, thanks!

Some pictures to whet your appetite, from July 2... they were taken by my cousin, who happens to look just like Ryan (Liquid Ice).
