Default Ford GT

Sheehy Ford in Gaithersburg has a GT in stock.

They are only asking 100K Over MSRP

Awesome car but greedy dealers.

When did they drop the "40?" I thought it was the GT40.

Strangely, some private citizen actually owns the name "GT40" (don't remember where I heard that). They must have left the trademark registration expire. I guess Ford didn't feel like paying to get the name back so they had to drop the 40 part of GT40.

Strange how these things work, ain't it?? Like those couple of old ladies who own the song "Happy Birthday". If it's used on air, even by news anchors, they have to pay a copyright license fee. winter is coming. Maybe it's time to look at things where the copyright and/or trademark has expired and jump on it. Hmmm...

C'mon now - wouldn't you like $100K profit on the next car you sell? If you could get away with it, and get it wouldn't you?

We are - we're only charging $500K for our GT - of course, it ain't no Ford.

Welcome to the United States.....remember the domain name craze?

My friend told me Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax has one also, I'll have to check out their "market adjustment" price.

the reason it is called the GT and not the GT40 is because the GT is 43 inches high. the original GT40 was called the GT40 becuase it was 40 inches high.

I do have a problem with price gouging. For a car like this it should be sold for MSRP. New Ferraris are sold for MSRP, and that's the car it's competing with.
IMO Ford dealers don't deserve such a fine automobile.

Its too bad the sales person won't get a regular commission on the car, I think all Sheehy deals are minis.

PS There is a Porsche GT in this area; a friend spotted one in Potomac.

We haven't received our Porsche GT yet - I've heard mixed dates on when it is actually going to show up, but I'm looking forward to it!

You might want to check those Ferrari prices again...the lower models (like any other car) are going for MSRP or less, but the top end ones - you want to talk about price gauging - they make our $200,000 raise on the GT look like a deal!
