Default Gauging interest: Gun simulation meet

Ok. So I thought this would be fun. Just seeing if anyone would be interested. We've been using a Glock 19 for the simulations and I usually go on Thursday nights, as they do competition rounds for $5. Doesn't mean I'm any good.

Here's the place: http://www.hatfieldsgunsmithing.com/

Location is: Manassas, VA

8 - 14 people. 1.5 hours.

Team matches.

$150 total. So it comes out to at most $18.75 per person.

Now the only hard thing will be figuring out a date. Would like to do this on a Saturday.

Will most likely be at hosted at 4:30 - 6:00. Then we can grab some grub at Tony's.

Would anyone be interested? Projecting to get this together after Mid-March.

What is a gun simulation? I like shooting... I like video games. Is this some sort of bridge of the two?

Yeah. It's exactly that. Real gun shooting at virtual targets. It's really fun.

Plus there will be some competition between people. That always makes things fun.

It's a simulator that puts you into a bunch of different situations. You have a rifle or pistol with a transmitter in it so the simulator system knows what you're shooting at on the screen. They can replay the scenario and show your bullet strikes on the screen. When I did my initial federal officer training we were put through a bunch of situations in a sim to make sure we weren't "trigger happy." We had a little extra time and they gave me the "Colombine" school shooting scenario. It's very intense and you'll get your heart rate up. I highly recommend this to anyone that has a concealed weapons permit and actively carries. It's a lot of fun and very educational.

.

I can try to get it together before you leave. I'll have to see what's on the schedule.

Between everything going on, I doubt I'll have a day to just play. Was just commenting to comment. Maybe I'll come watch one of the Thursdays you play.
