I'd specifically like to see a cruise to Busch Gardens. I haven't been there in a couple years and I think the atmosphere really caters to large groups (lots of big places to eat/meet within the park). Plus, the drive down would be a nice caravan opportunity. Sometime early summer would be great for the water rides (June-ish).

For those of you who want to do a BBQ and such, how about Burke Lake Park?
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/burkelake/

They have more then enough parking
You can reserve covered seating
Plenty of BBQ pits
It's close to popes head rd
Big fields for football
Volleyball nets
Frisbee Golf
Mini Golf
ice cream stand
train rides for kids
They are car group friendly, but I have seen them escort other car groups out for excessive revving
etc...

I know it isn't as exciting as VA Beach, but it would be pretty convenient for a lot of activities.

All props for this can be given to Bill & Bill (BearNVa and WhiteNukl) - it was their idea!

I was wondering what happened to that. I'm sure when it gets warmer, it will come back to life. Plus, I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway so I know no one else would have gone

That sounds pretty good. Non FFX residents will be charged $8 though to enter the park and without a pricy reservation on a picnic facility there would be no garuntee we'd get enough grills, tables.

Since FFX County residents are no longer required to have the county sticker they just ask the zipcode of where you are from. I know its not good to lie but you can get in for free any time by saying you are from any FFX county zipcode. They also have a free entrance where you can load and unload boats. The entrance has no gate at it and parks you VERY close to the seating areas. I didn't see the reservation price on the website but I ave a message in with them asking about price. Do you know the rates?

Well problem is other VA counties still require the sticker so most of us have other county stickers on our windshields so lying would't fly.

The rates to reserve pavillions was a couple hundred bucks or so.

Hm...guess people could always use the free entrance then....or.....just not have it there.
