Got a Tech question for the Mid-A Guys!
Replaced the TCT due to having the infamous TCT sound. Yet the sound didn't go away or change whatsoever. This is my DD so I need to get on top of this ASAP.
Any Ideas guys?
Thanks!

Had the issue when I ran mobile 1. Changed to royal purpel and it went away. Now I'm on amsoil and seems like the engine might be a little noisier (could just be me) than when I had royal purpel but still no tct sound.
Sounds is both cold start and warm start all the time. 48k miles, stock car w/ a catback.
Did a compression test and got 200 200 200 120
Any ideas as to the cause? The noise sounds like head noise, nothing like bottom end, bent valve?

First, which cylinder had the low compression? 4? The last one you did?
Make sure you unplug the injectors before you do the compression test, to make sure you're not filling the cylinders with gas, which lowers compression readings. After you do a dry compression test, do a "wet" compression test. Pour about 1/2 cap of oil in the cylinder before you test it, and repeat all 4 times and see if the compression comes up.
On one of the S2000's I just worked on, one of the rocker shaft rollers was stuck. It made a loud tapping sound. Was a real PITA to figure out.
For anyone that has said Mobil 1 could be the problem, I will have to disagree. I have ran nothing but Mobil 1 in my car for 3 years, and 40k miles. Never had a single noise/problem.
I wish you were closer to me. I would be more than happy to have a listen for you. I figured out Terry's car. And I was able to figure out the noise on Rob's car.
