Default help

So i just bought a 03' s2000 and it runs perfect, only 35,XXX miles. i only have one question that i searched and couldnt come up with anything. it is hard to describle but ill try. when my car is warm, a.k.a. at idle, if i turn the car off and run into 7/11 or something for a drink or something for 5-10 mins then i come back and turn my car on, it turns on fine, then the rpm's drop to like 300-500 and it feels like the car almost wants to cut off but it doesnt it just goes back to idle (800-100rpm), and when i give it a little gas just to make sure everything is okay, the rpm's drop real low again then go back to idle, i was just seeing if this was normal or okay, thanks in advance

it's probably just your idle control valve? (don't know what it's called) see if you can get a mechanic you know to adjust it and it should be fine. has your cut shut off because of this yet? and are you feeling any performance issues? If not, it should be fine. also, this seems more prevalent in cold weather, in my experience.

my car has NOT cut off yet, it just dips to very low rpm's, then the car shakes a bit, then its normal again. no performance issues

a lot of s2000s do that. you might need to clean your map sensor.

its most likely in the map sensor, i had the thing happening, so I purchased the updated map sensor from hardtopguy and it went away.

if it does this, and you start to hear a popping noise from your exhaust, or start to get a misfire code, check your injectors . . . i've seen on the forums that this has been a frequent cause as well . . . happened to my last S

this happened to me too, I asked my father who's a master mechanic, he did a fuel induction service to clean the intake and what not. I never had that problem again so u might wanna check if it's that.
