Default Help me out SOVA peeps....

I'm going to buy some new tires (BF Goodrich g-Force KDW2, 215/45/17 Front, 245/40/17 rear) but I need to find the best place for the best price. I've been to Treadquarters, Costco, Sam's Club, and Sears. I've also shopped Tirerack.com. Here's what I'm finding, these tires are special order.

1)How come no one around here has these in stock.

2)I'm wanting to buy them local because according to my calculations it will cost me about $200 more to order them online (shipped, mounted and balanced, assuming that I can find a place that will mount tires not purchased from them) than it would be to just go somewhere here and buy them.

Does anyone in the Hampton Roads area know of a place where I can purchase these tires and have them put on without having to wait for 2-3 weeks to get them?

Chad? Alex? Chris? Carlo? Can anybody help me out with this info?

Also should I stick with a stock rear width or should I go wider? I'm still running stock wheels and E.J. before you ask no you can't have them!

you should stop by kramer(goodyear). the one i have been to before, on general booth and dam neck, gets the tires the next day after you go in there and order them. and they dont charge much more to mount and balance them. i would probably go with 225/45's in front and 255/40's in back. do some research on those tire sizes through different brands, cause not every 255 is gonna have the same contact patch.

I'm dropped on Espelir Springs and I don't think I will have enough room to fit 225's or 255's on it. I think they will rub. If I was stock height it would probably be good but being dropped 1.3" I believe I will have problems.

Any opinions on this anybody?

Bear, I'm honestly not too sure of any place locally that will carry that tire. Every time I have made a purchase it was through tirerack. Great pricing, plus if the tire you are looking for is in stock at their Delaware location (which it is) you will typically have it in 2 days!

On the Espelir drop I'd probably go with a 225/45 & 245/40 setup. With stock AP1 wheels you should have no rubbing issues!

You're funny..... are you sick or something? If so I hope you feel better soon.
Does it matter if I'm on AP2 wheels (17x7F, 17x8.5R, 215/45/17 Front, 245/40/17 Rear). I don't think it should with the sizes to told me. I'm already running 245 in the rear.

Chad and I always order tires online, then have them mounted at work.

My old 225/245 setup:

No rubbing issues at all

Hm, yeah with the AP2 Wheels I'd probably do a 225/45 Front & 245/40 Rear with what you're going for. You may even be able to squeeze a 255/40 in the rear!

If I ordered my tires online through tirerack how much would you charge to mount and balance them? BTW your old ride was HOT! Very nice ride man!
