Hood Venting
Hey guys, as ron stated I took the plunge, and it came out fantastic! Ron was super careful and did a great job. If you're on the fence I would recommend doing it.
I have the K&N FIPK, which is already loud to begin with, but with a vent directly on top of it the sound is absolutely incredible. Just pure induction noise in VTEC, it sounds unlike anything else on the road. Anyways, on to the pictures. Now I really have to put my lip on and find a set of wheels to complete the car.
hood off. Made sure not to flip it over until completion so the metal shavings wouldn't scratch the paint

Mesh is in. It was powdercoated matt black (so it matches the trim on the rest of the car), and secured with industrial strength double sided tape and a bead of silicone. It's also slight larger than the hole, so you have to basically snap it in. Point is, it's not going anywhere. Before getting this done I thought about maybe installing sheet metal clips but it's really not necessary.

Excuse the tree growing out of my car

My only advice: Just be patient, it takes time to get it right. It'll pay off in the end if you are.

Yes it took about 5 hours but as stated well worth it!
If you have any problems with the vents you know my number.
Ron is a great guy! Known him for years. Very careful and does a professional and perfect job everytime he does anything! Especially when it comes to our cars! I trust him completely. Do it if you are thinking about it you will not be disappointed in his handiwork!
