Default I did it again

I admit it was a mistake, error in judgement, but I had my first speeding ticket (going 84 in 65 speed limit) in howard county, md (and my second ticket overall). My first one was a stop sign violation around 3 months ago.

How many points i will get for these tickets. If possible how can i reduce my points. I will ensure that this dosent happen again

given your clean driving history the judge will most likely be lenient with the points and fine, but it depends on the judge. hope the officer doesn't show up. if it was a state trooper there's a greater likelihood he won't show up..based on my experience

From DMV.Org:

* Speeding (9 miles per hour (mph) or less) - 1

* Speeding (10 mph and over) - 2

* Speeding (20 mph or greater over the 65 mph speed limit) - 5

* Speeding (30 mph and over) - 5

Looks like the cop was nice and write you up for a 2 point ticket. you'll probably have a nice little fine though.

State Troopers haven't shown for me, however, I live in AAcounty and our officers live for traffic violations, hope for a PBJ and watch your driving, I've had a few violations, it only gets worse from here.

it is a state trooper for the speeding ticket and the county officer for the stop sign. thanks nightcrawler, leadfootgirl, rsa2k

yes he was a nice guy i was going 86 but he wrote me up for 84. otherwise it would have been a 290$ fine instead of a 160$ fine that i have on right now. I talked really nice to him throught this.

It doesn't hurt to go to court. Most likely they'll stay the fine plus court costs.. but maybe reduce the point or two. Goodluck.
