Thumbs up I have a question

I have my VEIP test due in Febuary. My car is supercharged using AEM for my engine management. I also have a cat back exhaust with test pipe. Anyone with this similar setup have any problems when being tested? Is there anything i need to do/change to pass in Maryland? Thank you in advance for any help or advice.

It won't pass... 96+ cars are tested by plugging into the diagnostic port under the dash, with the EMS, the port is not used. The station will fail the car for not being able to read the ecu.

You should be able to plug in the stock ecu and use a FPR to pass... but the details of that I'm not familiar with.

I think I meant to say FMU... I'm sure there is something in the FI section on this topic.

here you go. Apparently you reinstall your OEM ECU, drive around out of boost to the place and get tested... You just need to make sure the ECU is in readiness mode before they scan it

Another option if you are running the stock injectors is to take off the SC belt and plug in a stock ECU. The car will run pretty crappy, but driving around like that for a bit should be enough to pass you.

This is the main reason I am not using AEM at this point. Its a huge PITA.

Thank you for the tip Jim. Unfortunatly i do not have stock injectors. Anyone know about how long it takes to reach " readiness mode "?

I think it needs at least one hot/cold cycle. Any cheap ODB-II scanner can tell you.
