Default I lost a friend and mentor...

I heard today that Joe Wozney passed away on Thursday night. He apparently had a heart attack and died in the arms of his loving wife Bobbi. Many of you know Joe as the driving force behind the GWS Mercedes autox and HPDE. He was both a friend and mentor. It was Joe that first taught me the art of autoX and it was Joe who first took the step of pushing me to become an HPDE instructor. He and Bobbi were fixtures in the motorsports scene with Mercedes, Porsche and others. It would be an understatement to say that he was instrumental to bringing in dozens of drivers to the motorsports scene.

Please keep Joe and Bobbi in your prayers.

I am saddened to read this. Joe was a great guy, I really enjoyed the MBCA events he put together

My condolences to friends and family.

RIP Joe.

He's a great guy and one of the reasons the GWS Mercedes track days were so well run and enjoyable. Joe, you'll be missed.

Very sad news indeed. Pete it was on your recommendation of his organization that my first track event was with GWS-MBCA. He went out of his way to communicate everything I would need to know as a first timer. Great guy...

I, too, am very sad to hear this. I am another one of the guys that got their first taste of the sport under his watch.

This is very sad. Joe will be missed.

As they say, Joe was "good people." Pete, I'm particularly saddened for you as you obviously had an ongoing relationship with him. Thank you for sharing the news, albeit not the best.
