I've heard both, but only owned one of the two. I like the way the Comptech looks, and how quiet it is. The greddy is a little more "flashy" and a little louder. Depends on what you want, I suppose.

I think the comptech (without silencers) is louder than I'd like, not real loud but just annoying when your trying to talk to someone or hear ur music.......while accelerating. With the silencers its pretty quiet.

I was considering the Greddy SE but now having second thoughts after C_Ory's post. I don't want to be any louder than I am now.

I didn't know Comptech had silencers. The one I had didn't have them, and it was super quiet, until 6k or so. I sold it to EJ, and he had it, so he can chime in as well. Really quiet, no drone at highway speeds, stock appearance.

The Greddy is definitely louder, at every RPM.

I guess I'm too old for loud exhausts anymore. I'll start saving for the ASM 70.

The thing with me is, I do not want anything ridiculously loud...just, a bit louder than stock, a bit. As of now, its the Greddy for me.

Cid, both Tae and Batman have the Greddy, and both sound absolutely awesome. That being said, it has some incredibly bad drone around 3000rpm... I'm probably just getting old, but damn I don't think I could DD the Greddy SE...

I guess it all depends on how annoying to other people you want to be, the singles are usually the loudest and the ones that give you the most HP increase. I run the Tanabe Medalion Touring catback system and absolutely love it. It doesn't have that awful droning at a constant RPM and the sound really explodes at WOT. I have since added a BERKS TP and a Meagan header and the exhaust got slightly louder, but still very bearable.

as for HP gains, I really havent had the chance to get it dyno'ed yet...

I can take you for a ride in mine. I have a single, and it's super quiet! (unless you get on it)

A ride would be nice, but singles are out of the question, for now.

To be honest:

I realize that me getting a free flowing exhaust is bad for my low end power, (which is bad) but good for my mid range, so power gains are not as important as the sound I am looking for. I just want a little louder and a bit more aggressive exhaust tone.

The time I would worry about power gains from an exhaust would be when I am doing forced induction to my engine. Then, perhaps I would go for the single.

Am I right? Lol.
