Default Was I seeing things?

OK, the wife and I were leaving Short Pump Town Center (Richmond) yesterday evening, and I swear I think I saw a rather unusual S2000 pull in behind us (we were in the mini-van).

This S was dark blue (the Imola Blue color?) with what looked like chromed vents where the side markers usually are.

Anyone know anything about this, or was I succumbing to exhaust fumes from my van?

I've seen one similar to what you described (didn't remember it being a custom blue...but rather a Berlina) a few months back parked next to me at TGIFriday's in Short Pump. The "custom vents" that this S2000 had were like the older Buick treatments => O O O <= three chrome circles (ovals actually) in a row, juuuuust about where the S2000 logo & sidemarkers typically are.

Might have been the same S2000

None of the above, so far. Definitely not an M roadster, I know those pretty well.

It was a much darker blue than a Berlina. The side "vents," if that's what they were, were shaped like two sideways diamonds:

But that could have been due to the angle at which I saw them.

Very interesting...

could be a totally different car with a custom s2000 front end conversion. you know how they "transform" the whole look of the car by combining different parts from different cars.

Where's the picture of that dark blue Miata with a S2000 front end? I saw it somewhere on S2Ki months ago.

Did you mean the Monte Carlo blue? (Imola is orange.)

Darker than black? Were you thinking about Suzuka?

I'm not trying to be picky, I'm just confused...
