Default Introducing myself, and one little question.

Hi, I'm a new MY04 s2000 owner, red (for me there is no other color). I previously owned a red honda del sol, which was the best car I had ever owned, and which was slaughtered by a lady who didn't look before turning left. I had to find a new car which met my requirements: 1) two seater, 2) manual transmission, and 3) red.

I looked at the common competitors, but really, it was an easy choice which I had made almost as soon as I realized my del sol was toast.

SO here I am, I have come to officially join the club. My name is Peg, I live and work in Germantown, MD. I'll add my VIN just as soon as I figure out how to.

Just a quick question to ask, I've tried searching to absolutely no avail: When you open the drivers door, does the car beep once at you? If this is not a normal every-time thing, does anyone have any idea what this might be indicating?

Thanks!
Peg

The only time the car really makes a noise like that may be if you have left the lights on... other than that I have no idea....I also don't have an '04 so...

My car does the same thing, beeps when opening the door. My parents Civic does it too. I still don't understand why.

Hmm I guess having the car for 4.5 years you don't even think of these things anymore

I've never heard it on a '00 or '01 car. Maybe an update to the immobilizer system.

See no one pays attention to this beeping

*edited...

Just went out to the car and yes there is beeping. I have had an alarm since the beginning so it may have to do with that

Thanks for the replies, I won't worry about the beep and will assume that it's just the car saying hello. I've checked to see if anything is on or not-on that should be, etc but I can't find a thing out of order.
