Gave up 'cause I felt like a foo'.
Went home and found it.
Marcus -- Congratulations!
To add to FF2Skip's points:
Turn the gas cap "3 clicks" to keep the CEL from coming on.
You recapped several of the best tips well, especially staying under VTEC, preferably by a few hundred RPM.
I read here and agree that the car is seasoned in from around 8,000 miles. Of course you can VTEC before as described above and in the manual. If you want to do engine mods I've heard the recommendation to wait until you have about 8,000 or so miles.
For my first couple of months I found various muscles ached after driving. Thousands of miles later the car broke me in and I developed better driving muscles/tone -- whatever. That might sound odd but it helped me enjoy driving the car more. Now I expect every car to drive like my S2K. The VTEC shifts as you and the car become more tuned to eachother just keep getting better. No need to rush.
Remember with cars like the S2000, it's about the journey Enjoy.
