Hahaha ... To be 100% honest that was in no way directed at you. It just seems like a lot of people make the same mistakes when they first join the boards. A little extra effort will sometimes go a long way.

Don't speak less! We want to hear from anyone who has something to add to the conversation. Just think before you post - that's all

And respect helps

I post this as a general remark - not aimed at you civicguyinva

Mostly just lurk now. S2ki used to be a community of information and assistance, with some silly bantering, without fear of being ridiculed, or antagonized from people you don't even know. Simple social interaction, especially between starngers.

Well said, Fed. Those folks back then had some common courtesy and common sense.

I'll be blunt. I used to feel like I owed something to the community. I don't feel that way anymore. I still feel indebted to many of the people individually.

Civicguy- I don't care if I pissed you off. I still have no idea what the heck you were talking about. And instead of asking someone to help you with installing gears, perhaps you should ask what others have done first. Remember, "we" have been labeled as a tight and stick-to-ourselves group.

Alex- I believe you are wrong. Normally it's in the winter time when we're at each others throats 'cause nobody is out driving. That makes the current state of affairs all the more troubling.

Personally, and I've said this before, the Mid-A needs to split. The sheer numbers of owners, young and old, dictate this. The region is too large and traffic too bad to continue as such. Unfortunately(or fortunately) for me, I have to travel to everything save the MegaMeet.

Getting a high PPD is not necessarily a sign of being a good and contributing community member. I do not give much credence to those who have a 15+ ppd and have been on the board less than a year.

Lastly, people's priorities change. What folks want out of the Mid-A changes. Some changes are accelerated by the actions of others.

i think one of the big problems with this site is the layout.... when you first join there isn't a clear FAQ section or a section with "newbie questions"... i think if there was a defined FAQ section, a lot of the newbie questions wouldn't get asked and it wouldn't be open season on every newbie. Plus there are not any good tech articles on basic car stuff.... i finally found the UTH section but even there the articles aren't that great and all the pictures are expired. the other sites i've been involved in had great sites with a huge library of info... from model year colors to turbocharger swaps and everything in between.

I know when i joined I asked a simple question... I was looking at an 04 and just wanted to know how much difference it was.... i did a search but didn't come up with anything so I asked a question... i got about 20 posts, I was thrilled! then found out 19 of those were useless and just calling me a dumb newbie or telling me to search first. not very helpful and not a good way to introduce someone to the s2k community.

I've been involved in a few forums and most of them were pretty forgiving... especially to newbies, people were always out to lend a hand or to offer advice. Even if the questions was asked 10million times, people would still answer the question and not just take the opportunity to abuse the newbie.

Don't get me wrong, there have been a bunch of nice people especially in the Mid-A forum... i've also tried to help people out by running carfaxs while I had a carfax account. I look forward to meeting some of you at a meet sometime

skip....I made the decision to get those gears after talking to a lot of people on here ands seeing some videos of the difference. now that ive made the choice to get something I was looking for help on getting them done right. It wasnt just a random thing that I said oh that looks nice I'll buy them. 1. because im too poor to buy junk that wont help and 2. I like my car too much to just put shit on it.

As far as the other night I dont even remember what we were talking about but I was telling someone else that there was a ap2 2003 s2000 in the area which I raced and won. the problem was I meant 2004....not 2003. Quite a few people seemed rather stuck on my mistake instead of me just making a simple comment that my sotck ap1 s2000 seemed faster then a ap2 (also stock) but can we please just forget it? it seems not worth remembering to me. I do appreciate your attempt to help me though even though I wasnt clear.

to anyone else....if mid-a group is so large would anyone would be interested in creating our own group? Like Skip said there would be MORE then enough people just in this area.

NOVASupra. We should get a sticky with general FAQ for just the MID-A section. Answering lots of questions about the S2k. AP1/AP2?, differences, modifications, etc.

Good idea
