Default Local NoVA Help needed

I've never had to do any work on gears before so I really don't want this to be my first. I've decided to buy some 4.57 gears to help on low and mid range power, but I don't want just some shmuck touching my car. Do any locals know how to do it? I'll do all the work if you just tell me how or hang out while I do it. Trying to:

1. save money
2. have it done right

Thanks!

Mike

mike, this is something you want to leave to the professionals.... if you place the gears in wrong you're going to be screwed.. hehehe.. why not just order one from hardtopguy already installed... then we can just swap the diff housing itself.. and send back the stock one.....

by the way.. you'll also want to pick up a yellow box to calibrate the speedo...

ohhh and just incase you didn't know... 4.57 gears drops your top speed to around 156mph.... and if you're staying NA you might want to opt for the 4.77 gears....but this will drop your top speed to around 142mph...

top speed down to 156? like I care? lol no seriously I dont do those speeds in this car. I dont think I will ever want to. I think as long as I can still do 150 I'll be happy (even though like I said I dont plan on hitting those speeds). I was debating 4.77, but I do long trips occassionally and dont want rpms too high....just a lil more umph from 0-100. Am I heading in the right direction? How much for the whole thing from hardtopguy? Thanks for the help as always

there's actually a group buy going on right now i believe for the 4.57 gears ..... go to marketplace.. then click on sponsors group buys and promotions.. and it should be in there... i think it's like $1300 with comptech rear diff enforcement and gears all installed.... but there is a $1000 core charge till you send them back your stock diff....

swapping diff's shouldn't be to hard...

a lil too rich for my blood lol I dont mind spending 500 right now for the gears, but 2300 up front is not a comfy thing currently. Even just 1,300 wouldnt be too much fun because im replacing my clutch and everything too.

I need a beer. I have to swing by the honda dealership first though to schedule clutch install and buy the keyless remotes. Unless anyone wants to help me with a clutch install lol
