Yes I sold that condo in April. It would have been a great location since it was 5 mins from the pentagon and came with garage parking.

I do have a brand new 2 car garage TH for lease. See my sig for link.

you want to stay away from landmark... not that great of an area... unless you're in the closed community of watergate...

you've got PM.

long story short: I'm renting a single family house that would go for $600k+ easily, for $1700 a month.

Alot of what you are listing is crappy and not worth the $.

Look around and rent. You can do much better.

Narrowed it down to these cities: Alexandria & Arlington

out of those two, any comments on areas I should look into? Or better yet, might be easier to list areas which I shouldn't look into.

to make it easier I'll list the subdivisions

Alexandria
- Beverly Hills/Warwick
- Braddock Heights
- Del Ray/Rosemont
- Landmark, Cameron Station
- Old Town/Clover
- Pinecrest/Overlook
- Stonegate

Arlington
- Ashton Heights
- Aurora Hills/Crystal City
- Ballston
- Clarendon
- Courthouse
- Ft Myer
- N. Arlington
- S. Arlington
- W. Arlington
- Westover

whats up carlo, good luck with the possible job

and as for where to live, stay arlington, stay on the orange line, and you will be much happier

Arlington
- Ballston
- Clarendon
- Courthouse
or Virginia Square

or Rosslyn on the Blue/Orange

Crystal City/Pentagon City is nice but really boring on the weekends because nobody stays past the work week, you would have a lot more fun in the strip in Arlington staying close to Wilson Blvd/Clarendon Blvd which runs east to west through arlington

you can search on craigslist any of those stops usually with pretty good hits, and if you can look for condos being rented out rather than apartments, i think you get better deals and put up with less crap that way

^ I have to agree...the whole Rosslyn, Clarendon, Ballston corridor is booming. Lots of new condos, apts, restaurants and shops. You will like it. Of course, as I said in my earlier post, it is not cheap to rent there. A one-bedroom in my condo in Rosslyn is about $1300, not including the monthly condo fee, which is about $300. So $1600 total.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/apa/90631265.html

something like this would be pretty sweet... assigned GARAGE space

or this, http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/apa/86744280.html

your big advantage in rosslyn would be that you woulnd't have to switch lines on the metro to get to the pentagon for work, and it would probably be cheaper than driving/ or less walking than the cross country hike you have from a lot of the pentagon lots
