Default Looking for a used car

My GF wants to buy a used Civic or Corolla. This is going to be her first car and she wants a relatively cheap car to gain experience and practice before purchasing a new one.

She prefers black, but is open to white and silver. Prefers any color interior but tan, but is willing to accept it if need be.

Looking for a car under 50k miles. 2001 and newer. No accidents. Looking to spend about $10k or less. Must have AC and power windows.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry I don't have any info on available cars, but just wanted to offer some info...

Being an owner of a black car myself, you might want to tell her that getting a black car with mileage on it will make it hard to get a car that looks to be in good shape. As we all know, black is the hardest color to maintain. So if you are looking at a common car with some mileage on it you may have a hard time finding someone who took good enouch care of it to make it look nice.

Just something to think about

As an owner of two black cars... black is a pain in the ass, but worth it IMHO.

We have an AP1 in Spa Yellow. No idea on the mileage, but it's either an 2000 or 2001, since it still has the plastic back window. I wonder if she'd be interested in that?

That would be nice, we would match. But too bad she cannot drive stick shift.

If there is any car in the world for someone to learn stick on, it is an S. The transmission is sooooo smooth!

I had very little seat time in a standard tranny car before I purchased my S. Granted, I have been driving 14 years and it is far from my first car. But I still managed to pick up the stick shift very quickly. The first two weeks were interesting, but I got the hang of it!

It is all of the other performance issues that are the problem... If there was only a way to "dumb it down" just enough to keep it from being dangerous...

i work at a toyota dealer in PA....i'll keep my eye out. the only thing i might run into would be the price for what you are looking for. it's tough to find a 01 or so corolla with decent miles for around $10k but as i said i'll keep my eye out and let you know if i get anything in
