I would double check the connections on the new intake. You may have missed something.

Does the ticking sound like a baseball card in bicycle spokes? If so, possibly the Timing Chain Tensioner(TCT).

Auto Zone will read CEL's with thier ODB reader for free. They will give you the code then you can do a search on this site for a thread that will tell you what is wrong. Do a search for CEL codes and print it out so you will always have them.

Seeing how you just put on an intake, I'm guessing that the secondary air control valve vacuum line(s) have come loose, or were installed incorrectly, at the fuel rail port. I'd check to make sure the lines, which are between the throttle body and head, are in place.

Also the ticking noise can be the sec air control valve ticking loudly due to lack of vacuum to the canister.

you might have the vaccuum tubes backwards. It happens all the time. The 411 code is always a good indicator. I have read so much on this because i had it. It cant hurt your car or your performance. But just check your hoses. If you cleared the code, it might come back. Best of luck.
