I'm at the point where it doesn't really matter what group I'm with. If its cheap track time then I'm game.

^What he said. Track time is track time, and I can't make a 2 day event that weekend. I've only done events with NASA, MBCA, and Trackdaze, and there's really not a noticeable difference.

I'm thinking about going (I went last year), but I think I am going to try and hold out for Track Daze in October, bcuz skid pad & I can only afford one event this fall.

If I don't do Track Daze, I will try the season-end event in November.

Just a reminder to those going you need to do a pre-event inspection (they might be able to tech your car there, but make sure to contact them and ask). Event is this Sunday, looks like we got 6 s2k's going.

Nice to see familiar faces and a new face out there yesterday. You were moving Ricardo! Hope you had a good time and I'll see you at the track more. Weather was literally perfect which is always nice. We didn't have a great turnout of s2k's, but glad a handful of folks made it out. For those w/o a rollbar who want to hit the track, there's a trackdaze event in October (think it's 4/5th) on Summit Shenandoah that is OEM rollhoop friendly. And if you want to try Summit Main, I'm pretty sure the Fall Finale in November is oem rollhoop friendly. I don't think I can make the October event, but am planning on doing the Fall Finale.

Regarding Jefferson, I'm not a big fan of the track and new section, a 1 day event there is definitely enough, 2 days (trackdaze had an event there last week) would drag. The new section is surprisingly bumpy with a few patches already which is disappointing. It took me till my last session to find a good line through the start of the new section (thanks to a different instructor). Either way, day was fun.

Some notes on my car.. Got the canton pan on, no issues really, but unfortunately didn't have a chance to monitor oil temps. I took a peak at them once or twice and saw 260+ which isn't unusual, but I wouldn't be surprised if I saw them eclipse 270, especially on the last session when I was pushing things a little more. Does the pan help? Hell if I know, it's more for just piece of mind. I have noticed slightly higher temps though w/ it. Might have to install that oil cooler sooner than later. Also, I put a breather filter on the OEM PCV location of the valve cover and found an engine bay w/ oil splooged everywhere after the last session. Time to install that catch can as well. I've run w/ a breather filter on the front port forever now and never had oil shoot out of there, so it seems unique to the oem pcv location.

All in all good day. I'll post up a video maybe later today when I get around to trying to combine the datalogging in racerender.

I haven't heard much on the new section, bumpy and patches sound like the typical SP asphalt work and that's from mostly HPDE cars.

I remember running the brand new pavement on SP main in 2007 it was great for that weekend then the moguls started appearing.

Last session of the day. Had a different instructor (Rod) ride with me and he pointed out a different line that I found to be faster than a previous instructor pointed out. Felt comfortable towards the end of the session and definitely left some time out there.. Always next time. Thanks to humbucker87 for the RR template!
