Default MD inspection & tint

The previous owner had 20% on the windows. Do they normally check the tint for legal % when doing state inspections?

Yes! You are only allowed 35% tint. So you have to use a tint lighter than 35% to make up for the factor tint. The MSP ASED is very strict on this!

ok, stopped by a nearby shop that does inspections and asked. They said if the car has ANY tint, on any window, i have to go to the DMV on tuesday or thurday, get it measured, and get a certificate saying its OK. Only then will they pass a vehicle with tint. This really sucks. Oh well. Guess its good the weather isn't too crappy. Picked up a bottle of tint adhesive remover and will proceed to de-tint my car.
