i think thats quite rude and insulting... i don't know how many times you need to state that you do this as a living....

i am also going to be doing this and web development as a living... yes i'm still in school. and yes you more then likely have more experience..... but some of the things you are saying are very rude and not very apreciated by me and some others.... and i keep on seeing this thing about you doing it for free and yada yada.. well if you haven't noticed i'm doing this for free also, i'm taking my free time to do some banners for the community.... so don't think you're the only one out there pitching in and don't be thinking that everyone else sucks or doesn't know what they are talking about like you do....

p.s. sorry if i'm affending anyone, but i've been holding my tounge for a while on this issue...

 

ok man.. you need to calm down.. I know a lot of the Mid-A people personally and joke around with them... and your blatant attack on me basically pisses me off. When I was a student I did a lot of stuff for free.. I still do a lot of stuff for free... a lot of what I say is partially sarcasm to some extent. When I am directly asked to do something specific though then catch some heat for it I'm going to defend my work. I know I can't please everyone.. but there are certain things that people that aren't in the field don't think about that I try to point out as possible problems such as files sizes and etc.

I've done other numerous banners, badges and etc. for the board that has been more or less free of charge but time is money. And anything I've stated has not been for any purpose to try to be rude.. I just try to state facts about some of this stuff and give my professional advice. If you got a problem contact me directly instead of bringing it up in a thread.

its pretty apparent you arent close friends with subby like most of the mid-a community is. alot of us have laughed, joked, and drank with subby.. several times myself personally. in fact just a few months ago i took a 12hr trip to drive out to donkeywood to visit him for a weekend. jake jokes around... lighten up a little bit.

also, jake does the monthly calenders, event portraits, banners, badges, and several things for several members of this board.
if you were a mechanic, and someone came up to you and said your work was a little off, didnt look so good. you would either a) get pissed off and snap b) let it go (never once seen someone do that) or c) take it to heart, but be a good enough guy to joke around about it.

jakes a good friend of mine, if he has a problem with someone, and its personal, he wont bash them on a thread.. he'll take it to PM's. so if you ever do see anything posted by him that you think is offensive.. 99% guarentee, he's joking around.

and lastly.. him saying that he does it for a living and its fairly simple.. but it could be difficult for someone else. how is saying that rude? he's stating simple fact, if i was an architech.. designing things wouldnt be to hard for me, however someone who is not familiar with it would find it more difficult. thats all he was stating....

i don't mind if my work gets criticized or people don't like it... i just work on it to satisfy other peoples needs... read other peoples posts... almost everything that has been suggested i've worked on.....

i just got annoyed with the "i'm a professional..... yada yada".... thats it tho.. i'm over it...

Jake(subby) I appreciate your banner and If I could make my own I would assist in the process, Im just not computer savy as you! Plus, I didnt have any ideas persay, I just knew that I would have to build on others ideas as I just didnt know where to start, or what really emcompassed the Mid-Atlantic. The posted one, I just agree it does not fit the whole Mid-A region. Sorry, if that sounds yucky. You did make a great badge for me though
