We (the Mid-A) tried to put together a calendar back in 2003 , but I think interest was lost before it could really get started.
I'd like (with some help) to try to get something together for 2006, making it available around November of 2005.
I have a few questions:
1) I have no idea what a calendar costs, so the poll is the first question (I just figured it wouldn't be anymore than $20)
2) Who wants to help me? - i.e. be a cameraman or coordinator for photo shoots.
3) If you already have some really high quality photos, PM them to me or email axsnyder@hotmail.com
4) Would you be willing to drive your car to a photo shoot?
I'm going to collect photos this year as well as try to arrange photo shoots in different Mid-A areas for this calendar - if a few people in Blacksburg want to get together one Saturday and take your own pictures, fantastic! - just send them to me. After I've got tons of pictures (probably around September) I want to get together with a few Mid-A members to select the photos we want to use.
Keep in mind - we want pictures of the S2000 in the best possible quality you have. It does not matter if the car is stock or modified out the wazoo and been on 20 different magazine covers. Everyone is equal here and we're definitely going to be able to use more than 12 photos I'm picturing a calendar that has a minimum of 3 photos per page, so one month might have a stock S2000 on the left side and two smaller pictures of a S2000 rolling and then a close up of a Turbo lined up on the other side. i'd be interested in lending a hand when i get out there around july. and taking my car to a photo shoot isn't a problem since i haul her in a trailer. i'll just need a heads up.

well if you go to kinkos or to the upstore, they do calanders for 20 bucks.... you just take them 12 pictures... maybe 13 (for the cover) and they do it for you.... it's quite simple....
and i would be interested in helping out... and i'll come to some photo shoots as long as my car has some things on it.. (wheels, body kit)
I want to think that AgS2K should still be a consideration for assisting with the calendar layout...but that's just my opinion here.
I'm all about putting a number of cars on each month. I really loved the single/poster calendar that s2ki.com did a few years back which was splashed with a buncha different members cars. So definitely, more than one per month would be nice.
Another way to incorporate that effort would be to consider (and here I don't know the appropriate term ) "ghosting the image" of some member's cars actually behind the days of the month portion. So if the calendar were to open up as two 8x10s as a booklet/spiral deal, you'd open each month to find an 8x10 glossy of 3-4 owner's cars up top...and the calendar below on its own 8x10 sheet (actually, it'd be on the "backside" of each next month's cars on top...make sense? ). The actual days calendar portion could have ghosted images of some additional cars too. But done so in a way as to still easily see the days of the month, etc.
