I frequently see motorcycle classes being conducted in the parking lot of NoVA Community College in Sterling. Check their website, or better yet, check the DMV's website

I'm not sure if VA offers the same type of program, but MD offers a motorcycle safety course that allows you to get your license at the end of the program and is highly recommended. Look into what the DMV offers.

There are also classes held in NOVA parking at the Alexandria campus.

My best friends dad is a sargent(SP?) for fairfax county police, also top dog in the motorcycle division, he teaches his own classes on the side on the weekends if your intrested ill get you the info. He and his "team" always place at least in the top 3 in the Police "rodeo's" (bike competitions for police all over the country). He is an amazing rider

The NVCC classes tend to fill up very quickly.

Harley Davidson shops also have classes. From my understanding, at the end of the class they have an MVA person give you the license test there.

Check this website out....

I have taken basic several years ago and experienced a few years ago. Both in DE.

The courses are good.

Good luck!

regarding NVCC. at least their weekend classes typically fill up within 2 days of open registration. Their weekday classes remain open and its fairly easy to get a spot. I just went to the New Rider Night event at Coleman Powersports in Falls Church where they came and gave a brief overview of the course.

I am in the process of signing up to take a class with Apex Cycle Education. It's a private company, so it's much more expensive, but at least I don't have to take 3 vacation days to attend the class. It's $350, but I am looking into a discount as we speak.
