Moving from DC to Hawaii
Google mapping my route to San Diego planning on leaving on May 7th. It's a long ride. Going to do it alone in my AP1. It's going to be a nice no cruise control slash running on megan tracks. Anyone else heading out that way? Or have ever done that drive? Any stops I should be looking for?

Which Hawaiian Island are you moving too? O'ahu? I assume?
I have had the good fortune of visiting O'ahu twenty-two times over the years on business. I have been to all of the islands with the exception of Molokai . So I may be able to answer some questions.

If you are going to O'ahu (Waikiki) you owe it to your self to go to the surf bar at the Royal Hawaiian and have a Mai Tai there. Go at night and see if a bartender named Kendido is working. If he is, tell him that Matt from Virginia sent you and ask him to make you an "Old Style" Mai Tai. He will take good care of you (especially if you take good care of him) and you tell him that I sent you.
He is one of the only bar tenders at the Royal Hawaiian that knows how to make an "Old Style" (original recipe) Mai Tai as originally created by Trader Vic
Trust me, if you tip him well you will not be disappointed. Please give him my regards.
P.S. I can provide other hints if you wish to PM me.

Sorry for the late response! My car made it here (3100 miles on the road, whatever many on the boat), and I am going through the whole process: registration, safety inspection.. no emissions over here! Definitely shoot me an email if you guys come out to visit. No track here and cops are pretty strict on the roads in general. Autocross is starting in a couple of weeks, so I can get my driving out then. Hope all is well, and keep in touch.

I missed out on getting to run the back roads with both of you.
