Default moving to VaBeach

I'll be moving to Virginia Beach to fly Hornets at NAS Oceana in 2 weeks. Guess I need to become a club member.

Who do you all recommend in the Norfolk area for service? Any good Acura dealers that'll service us, too?

Thanks!

Where are you moving from? I'm up in the NOVA area, so I don't know much about VA Beach but we'll have to cruise if I come down that way. You fly hornets? DAMN YOUS!!!!! God, why didn't I pursue that career? (boyhood dream... I was a NAVY brat). Damn recruiters wanted me to go to nuke school. I am SO jealous... you ride an S2k at home and an F-18 at work. Some people got the life I tell ya

I'm moving from Meridian, MS where I've been a jet instructor for 18 months after getting my wings here. I taught in the T-45C Goshawk, which is the Navy's advanced jet trainer. The cockpit is similar, in some ways, to a Hornet's.

I actually haven't flown the Hornet yet, but have been flying jets here in Meridian for 3 years. I'm going to Oceana to be a student in the rag, VFA-106, and then I'll go to a fleet squadron.

Yeah, New Orleans isn't too bad of a place to live, but it can be screwed up sometimes. I just went down there last month for Mardi Gras. Not fun driving the S down Decatur at midnight with drunks throwing beads at your car.

I lived in VA Beach for last 3 years of my Navy career...woohoo..glad that's over with. Then again, I wasn't flyin' jets VB is a nice place, and I would go back and live there again. Loved going surfing all the time, and living 10 mins away from the beach.

Good luck in your move!

I live in Va Beach. If you want, send me a PM and I'll give you my cell phone number. I fly C-130s in the Coast Guard (well I'm a navigator anyway ). I look forward to meeting you.

wjmb,
as far as norfolk service, checkered flag on va bch blvd has given me pretty good service. if you wanted to check out an acura service department, i'd recommend riddle acura in chesapeake. look forward to meeting another s2k in the area.

Wow! I've got Goshawks landing on the roof right now!! I'm an IT on the Truman and we're the platform for some new pilots today. I have to agree that Checkered Flag on VA Beach Blvd is the best place for service in VA beach. Ask for Miss Regina. She likes to drive mine into the service bay and she's the sweetest lady you'll ever deal with. Hall Honda is right down the road from me but they are cocky morons. They are better than you and they let you know it. They say "We can maybe fit you in sometime next week" and Regina says "bring it in right now." WORLDS of difference and only a couple miles farther to drive.
Good luck with the Hornets...maybe we'll see each other someday if you ever "call the ball" on the Truman.
