My baby has been molested
A month and a half later and I still don't have the car back
. Apparently it has been very difficult for the Spectrum guys to find seats. A big
to Hardtopguy for coming through with both a top (w/ glass rear window) and some seats from an '04. Hopefully they're in satisfactorily good shape. They're supposed to arrive tomorrow, so with any luck I'll get the car back next week...after it has become too hot for top-down comfort
.
Just as a word of warning to everyone, the used seats were about $3400 apiece, and the price for brand new ones was about double that
. Total cost for replacing the seats, top, shifter, and Muz mats came out at just under $10k. Yikes. Anyone know anything about car alarms, OEM or otherwise?

Got the car back yesterday, exactly 2 months after it was broken into. What an incredible pain in the ass. In the end, I got some '04 seats from Hardtopguy (though they do not appear to be used at all), along with a new top...WITH a glass rear window
. Seat locks were installed about 10 minutes after I got the car home. The Spectrum guys were very pleasant to deal with, but given the amount of time it took them to finish, I gotta think the ball got dropped at least once. I'm sure they don't really make much of anything off these insurance deals where they're just subbing out the work, but 2 months (during the spring, no less) is ridiculous, IMO.
But anyway, after months of frustration, I'm now
and
again

But yeah, $3400 for any seat, unless it's plated with gold, is pretty ri-damn-diculous. I can't even think about $6500.
Hope to catch up with y'all at a meet soon!
Sorry if this is a crosspost but someone local to you has sold 3 sets of S2000 seats on ebay for cheap. See below:
